“The world, when you look at it, it just can’t be random. I mean, it’s so different than the vast emptiness that is everything else and even all the other planets we’ve seen, at least in our solar system, none of them even remotely resemble the precious life-giving nature of our own planet.”
The Amazing Universe that God Created
Our universe is so spectacular that it is difficult to comprehend. Our solar system consists of the sun and our eight planets and is part of our galaxy called The Milky Way. Our sun is just one of about 300 billion stars in our galaxy! In fact, if you were to shrink the universe down so that our solar system was the size of a quarter, our galaxy would be the size of North America. After you try to get your head around the vastness of our galaxy, think about that fact that there are over 100 billion galaxies. In the entire universe, there are 70 billion trillion stars… more than the grains of sand on the entire earth. Truly, the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalms 19:1). The Big Bang Myth
All those stars in the universe present a huge problem for evolution. If the universe evolved on its own over the last 14 billion years, it would have had to form about 160,000 stars per second, yet we have never witnessed a single star being formed. Most people think that the big bang theory fully accounts for everything in the universe, but when it comes to star formation the big bang falls short.
“The truth is that we don’t understand star formation at a fundamental level.”
Abraham Loeb, Harvard’s Center for Astrophysics
In order to account for star formation, evolutionists have to come up with big bang fudge factors like dark matter and dark energy that have never been observed in space or recreated in the laboratory and run completely contrary to everything we have been able to observe about physics.
“The scary part is that if none of us knew in advance that stars exist, front line research would offer plenty of convincing reasons for why stars could never form.”
Neil Degrasse Tyson, Evolutionary Astrophysicist
The truth is that star formation is just one of many things that bankrupt the big bang myth. Scientific research related to the sun and every single planet in our solar system provides strong evidence that the big bang theory is a big hoax. For a very thorough explanation, check out this video by Spike Psarris, former engineer in the U.S. military space program.

The Real History of the Universe
So if the big bang theory is a bust, where did the universe come from? According to the Bible, God created the universe and everything in it in 6 days (Exodus 20:11). This is very consistent with what science has observed in space, as explained by Danny Faulkner, Bachelor of Math, Master of Physics and Doctor of Astronomy, in this video.

The Age of the Universe
If the big bang is not supported by science, you may wonder how secular scientists could possibly support the theory. They have a magical ingredient which, in their mind, fully accounts for all features of evolution, regardless of how anti-scientific and nonsensical they are. That ingredient is called ‘time’ and in their mind it can miraculously make things that are impossible a virtual certainty.
“Time is in fact the hero of the plot… what we regard as impossible on the basis of human experience is meaningless here. Given so much time, the ‘impossible’ becomes possible, the possible probable, and the probable virtually certain. One has only to wait: time itself performs the miracles.”
George Wald, Harvard
So, if the universe did not start with the big bang 14 billion years ago then it begs the question, just how old is it? That can be determined by starting at creation week and adding up the genealogies in the Bible – you know, those pages of ‘and he lived so many years and begat what’s his name and after he begat what’s his name, he lived so many years and then he died’. If you do the math, the universe and earth were created about 6000 years ago, at the same time as the first man… or technically 5 days prior. By the way, if we could speed up time, so that the universe was created yesterday, evolutionists would say that the big bang happened 6,301 years ago at that time scale! Once again, that which we observe in science is much more supportive of a young universe, as detailed in this video by Eric Hovind:
Beginnings Session 2 – How Old Is It?
Even though the Bible is quite explicit about the age of the universe, most people have come to accept the big bang myth. Rather than interpreting what we see around us through God’s Word, many have reinterpreted God’s Word based on man’s word. Theologians have developed many ways of compromising the Genesis account in an attempt to justify the billions of years required by evolution. These include the gap theory, day-age theory, day-gap-day theory, framework hypothesis, progressive creation, theistic evolution, Adam is metaphor for Israel, cosmic temple inauguration view, humans from animals with amnesia, etc.
The Gap Theory
A careful study shows that all these theories are inconsistent with the Bible, attempting to create billions of years that never existed. Take the gap theory for example. It proposes that the billions of years fit between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.
Genesis 1:1-2: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… <gap of billions of years>… the earth was without form, and void…
The problem with this is that we see the same Hebrew words for heavens (shamayim) and earth (erets) are used in Exodus without a gap.
Exodus 20:11: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
The Authority of God’s Word
It’s not the age of the universe that is so important, but rather the authority of the Word of God. Satan’s strategy is to attack the authority of God’s Word and he has been doing it ever since Genesis 3, when he asked Eve, ‘did God really say…’. If we start to reinterpret God’s infallible Word based on man’s fallible word, then where do we stop?
- Did God really create the universe as detailed in Genesis?
- Were Adam and Eve real people?
- Were they actually responsible for the introduction of sin and death?
- Do we really actually need a saviour?
- Was Jesus even a real historical figure?
- Did Jesus really rise from the dead?
- Is there really going to be a rapture?
- Is there actually a heaven and hell?
These are just some of the questions that are becoming common these days, as more and more people begin to compromise on the authority of the Word of God. To learn more about the age of the universe and the days of creation, I encourage you to check out this video by Ken Ham:
